Question:

This is a plastic tray that came with Nutter Butter cookies. It has a recycling symbol with the number SIX inside the triangle. Can I recycle this in my blue recycling bin?

Additional recycling material may be collected in a self-purchased (clearly marked recycling container) not exceeding 32 gallons in size.

Plastic bags in any form and cardboard boxes are not acceptable collection containers. Recyclables must be loose in the recycling toter.

There is no additional collection cost.

Plastics-

#1 PET plastic (water, pop bottles)

#2 HDPE plastic (milk, detergent bottles)

#4 & 5 Polypropylene plastics (pill bottles, yogurt cups, food containers like a butter container)

We do not accept:

#3 PVC plastic

#6 Polystyrene plastic

#7 All Other plastics

Glass-

·         Clear, brown and green glass.

Paper Items-

·         Newspapers and inserts.

·         Magazines (glossy and non-glossy).

·         Shredded paper (can be placed in a paper bag (grocery bag) and placed in the recycle cart).

·         Cardboard flatten cardboard into 3 feet x 3 feet or smaller square pieces (if outside cart flatten into 4x4 squares).

Metals-

·         Aluminum cans and foil.

·         Steel and tin cans.

To dispose of home-generated special materials and schedule a collection at your home, contact At Your Door in one of these two ways:

.          Take the batteries to Batteries Plus on Randall Rd.  325 S Randall Road (847) 289-8990.  Some battery recycling will be charged a fee.
