Coffee-Mate Liquid Creamer Bottle

Question:

This plastic bottle of Coffeemate creamer is recyclable because it has a #1 PET recycling triangle on the bottom. However, the bottle is wrapped in plastic. Do I need to remove the plastic wrapper before putting the bottle in the recycling bin?

City of Elgin’s Answer:

It is not necessary to remove the wrapper due to the process at the PET (polyethylene terephthalate) mill.
