Antiperspirant/Deodorant Aerosol Spray Can

Preview

Question:

Aren’t all aerosols “multi material”? Does that mean I cannot recycle it? And what about the cap and other things found on my antiperspirant/deodorant? Do I remove them and put them in the recycling bin? Or do I throw the cap in the garbage?

City of Elgin’s Answer:

Do not place aerosol cans in in either curbside recycling or waste pickup, as these can be combustible items.

For proper disposal, please use the At Your Door Program (https://cityofelgin.org/2548/At-Your-Door-Service), or take aerosol(s) to a drop-off location available near or around Elgin (more information on drop-off locations: https://cityofelgin.org/2555/Drop-Off-Locations).
