Question:

Is the item attached to this 3-1-1 app request [restaurant to-go box] considered different from a recycling perspective from the Starbucks cup in the previous blog post. Specifically, you previously said items with "wax coatings on paper packaging” were now recyclable. Does this item fall into that category?

City of Elgin’s Answer:

The product is recyclable. This product is similar to paper cups in that most of these types of containers have a coating due being used for to the food applications.  They are typically coated on the inside only and therefore recyclable.
